Position Summary

As a Human Resources Assistant at Marriott, you will play a key role in supporting the HR department by assisting in monitoring employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and providing support to management and employees. Your responsibilities will include tracking HR issues, assisting with recruitment and hiring processes, maintaining employee records, and helping resolve employee relations concerns. You’ll also play a key role in organizing and managing employee surveys and supporting HR logistics and administration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Employee Relations Support: Assist in monitoring employee relations issues, provide resolution support, and follow up as needed.
  • HR Support: Respond to questions and concerns from employees and management regarding company policies, programs, and guidelines. Ensure timely communication of HR-related information.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: Support and monitor the recruitment and hiring process to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate employee records (e.g., interview documents, I-9s) and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Training & Development: Assist management with hiring, training, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and motivating employees.
  • Safety & Compliance: Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management and adhere to company policies related to safety and security.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with the logistics and scheduling of annual employee surveys, and answer phone calls and record messages as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Build positive relationships with employees and management, and work together to reach shared goals. Support teamwork and help foster a positive work environment.

Additionally, you’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring the confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Upholding professionalism in communication with guests and employees.
  • Performing physical tasks such as moving and lifting items up to 10 pounds.
  • Completing other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant HR or related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
